Installation from $1,250 inc GST when you supply the charger — dedicated circuit, RCD protection, mounting, full testing and a compliance certificate. We can supply the charger as well, quoted to suit your car. The price moves with the cable distance from your switchboard to where you park, whether the run goes through a wall or has to be trenched to a detached garage, single or three phase, and whether your switchboard needs upgrading first.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger in Perth?
Installation starts from $1,250 inc GST if you supply the charger, which covers the dedicated circuit, RCD protection, mounting, testing and the compliance certificate. Supply and install is quoted to suit your car and the charger you want. What moves the price is the cable run from your switchboard to where you park, single or three phase, and whether the board needs upgrading first. Send us a photo of your switchboard and where you park and we'll give you a ballpark the same day.
Do I need three-phase, or is single-phase enough?
Most homes are fine on single-phase. A 7kW charger adds roughly 40km of range an hour, so a car left on it overnight is full by morning. Three-phase is worth it if you're doing very high daily kilometres, charging two EVs, or you have a car that can genuinely accept 22kW — plenty can't, so paying for three-phase gains you nothing. We'll tell you which one your situation actually needs.
Can my switchboard handle an EV charger without an upgrade?
It depends on your existing board capacity and what else is running in the house, particularly ducted air conditioning or an electric hot water system. We check this before quoting rather than assuming, because it changes the price.
Can I supply my own charger?
Yes, and it's usually the cheaper way to do it. A lot of EV buyers already have a charger — bundled with the car, supplied by the dealer, or bought online. We'll install it, test it and certify it, and the manufacturer's warranty stays with you. If you'd rather we supplied the charger too, we can quote that. Either way, tell us the model before we quote so we can confirm compatibility and mounting.
How long does home charging actually take?
It depends on your car's onboard charger and the charger you install, but a dedicated home charger is significantly faster than a standard power point — often the difference between an overnight charge and a two-day one.
Do I need council or strata approval?
For a standalone house, generally no. If you're in a strata scheme or apartment complex, check with your strata manager first — we're happy to provide technical details they might ask for.
Is there a rebate available in WA?
Not for home chargers in Western Australia. As at September 2026 there is no WA residential EV charger rebate, and the federal programs go to dealers and businesses rather than homeowners. Some other states do offer them, which is usually where the confusion comes from. If that changes we'll tell you when we quote.
What's covered under warranty?
Installation workmanship is guaranteed, and the charger itself carries manufacturer warranty separately.
